As I move around today in my home,
scurrying to get the last minute details completed,
preparing for our Christmas Eve dinner,
our evening with family and friends,
and all of the festivities of Christmas Day,
I can't help but think of Mary.
Mary, the mother of our Savior.
I wonder...
how did she prepare for the coming of her Son's birth?
What was going through her heart
and her mind,
as she knew she would soon be holding the Savior of the world in her arms.
The Christ child who would be the miracle that is Christmas.
As I read in Luke today,
I realized exactly what she did to prepare...
Luke 1:46-55
And Mary said:
“My soul glorifies the Lord
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
for the Mighty One has done great things for me—
holy is his name.
His mercy extends to those who fear him,
from generation to generation.
He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.
He has brought down rulers from their thrones
but has lifted up the humble.
He has filled the hungry with good things
but has sent the rich away empty.
He has helped his servant Israel,
remembering to be merciful
to Abraham and his descendants forever,
just as he promised our ancestors.”
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
for the Mighty One has done great things for me—
holy is his name.
His mercy extends to those who fear him,

Mary praised Him.
With song and with the words of her mouth.
She praised the Savior within her.
She didn't scurry all around and busy herself with things.
She simply praised Him.
May you praise Him with your whole heart
and with your song
and with the words of your mouth today.
May His praises fill your home
as we prepare to celebrate our Savior's birth.
Merry Christmas!
May it be filled with all the goodness that only He can bring.
Isaiah 9:6,7 (The MSG)
His names will be;
Amazing Counselor, Strong God, Eternal Father, Prince of Wholeness. His ruling authority will grow, and there'll be no limits to the wholeness He brings.
