Have you ever stood around a bonfire? Have you felt the heat as it radiates and rises? Have you taken in all of it's beauty? Our family loves to go camping for Thanksgiving each year. The smell of the woods, the sound of the fourwheelers, the laughter of children running around, and the faint sound of gunshots in the background, from the hunters, is something we look forward to each year. But one of the best things about camping is the campfire. There is just something relaxing about sitting around a fire. The sound of the wood crackling and popping is soothing. I love to watch as the fire takes different forms within itself. It almost looks like waves at times. The colors are breathtaking. The blues, the reds, the oranges and the whites. It's amazing to me to see how the wood takes to the flame so quickly. It is like it is consumed by it. The fire doesn't even need to touch it. Just being next to its heat, can ignite a log several inches thick. Simply astounding to view. Fire is truly a powerful form of nature. Do you know that the power of God in us is like fire? The power of God is a fire that should consume us. The fire of God in our life should cause us to take to a different form or shape. We should act and look differently. Our being should be as the waves of a fire that cause someone to stop and stare. Our lives should pour out the beautiful, breathtaking colors of the fire within us, that is God. The fire of God should be so strong within us that when we just stand next to someone, they are ignited with the fire of God! HIS love in us is the fire that will never burn out. We must share the fire with those around us. When you spend time with someone, do they smell the fire burning within you or do they smell the ashes of the fire you let burn out. A fire only grows if you continue to feed it's flame. Allow yourself to be consumed by God's word and HIS love for you. Don't let your fire burn out...let it grow hotter and stronger. Let it consume all those you come in contact with. Ignite someone! Hebrews 12:29 "for our God is a consuming fire." Matthew 3:11 "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire."
