Sunday's Song

My husband woke up this morning, an hour too early, I might add, because of the time change. It was three instead of four, but he was up, so he went on with his normal routine. He fixed a cup of coffee, and went out underneath the carport to breathe in the "early" morning air. He was sitting inbetween our two vehicles on a little stool. He began to hear footsteps coming towards him, but he didn't think it unusual because we have many cats that run rampid in the neighborhood. He brushed it off as a cat playing in the brisk "early" morning air. When all of a sudden, a dark man appeared, walking up to our front door. The man's hand was stretched out towards the doorknob...he was going for the door. As soon as he noticed the man, he spoke up quickly and questioned what he was doing. The man...totally taken off guard by someome actually sitting under the carport...said a few words out of shock and guilt and then ran off quickly into the dark morning...away from our house. My husband immediately dialed 911 and the police were at our house within minutes. No sight of the man. He was gone. Vanished into the early morning.

I am thankful that my husband was sitting outside, that he was kept safe, untouched by the devil's hand. It could have turned into a very ugly situation...

Now...I could sit here and describe what the devil tried to do to our family this morning...

Or...I could sit here and praise God for what HE did.

HE had my husband wake up an hour early.

HE had my husband sitting under the carport as the watchmen of his home.

HE stopped the devil's plan...with HIS own plan.

HE delivered my husband and our family from harm.

My husband felt guilty, as husband's do, he felt like he didn't do enough. My response to that was..."You were right where God wanted you to be."

I had picked this song out last weekend for this weekend's "Sunday's Song"...not knowing what today's early morning would bring. I added these two scriptures last night...then clicked save. Coincidence? I think not...

He has delivered me...too many times to count.

You, O Lord are my deliverer.

I stand in awe of Your gift of Grace in my life.

Psalm 91:14 "Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name."

Psalm 91:3 For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence.
