His name is Jesus!
There is something about the sound of my husband's name that brings me to a warm place in my heart. He is my highschool sweetheart and we are approaching our eighteenth year of marriage and our twentieth year of friendship. The years, that have been ours to spend together, have helped me become the woman that I am today. We have survived many of life's hardest blows together and that says alot. He is my closest friend and spiritual companion. There is nothing that I can't share with him. Carrying his name as my own is what I was meant to do. His last name is a beacon for our family. It is the name that our children carry with them and that our grandchildren will one day be known by. People who know me, know that I belong to him and I wear his name. I stand honored to carry his name. But, as good as his name is for me to hear, there is another that effects me even more. This name should be one that we all wear. This name is one that people should know when they see us. His name is JESUS! There is something about that name! Jesus! There is power in the name of Jesus. There is healing in the name of Jesus. There is hope in the name of Jesus. There is love in the name of Jesus. There is peace in the name of Jesus. There is freedom in the name of Jesus. The whole earth praises the name of Jesus. The heavens rejoice in the name of Jesus. Walls fall down in the name of Jesus. Storms cease in the name of Jesus. Chains are broken in the name of Jesus. The dead is risen in the name of Jesus. Addictions are broken in the name of Jesus. Lives are restored in the name of Jesus. His name is THE beacon in all darkness. Sins are forgiven in the name of Jesus. Hearts are saved in the name of Jesus. How precious is the name of Jesus! One day the whole world will bow at the name of Jesus! Yesterday, we celebrated Easter with my family out of town. There had to be about thirty of us there, if not more. It was a busy, loud and celebratory weekend. The noise level was probably record breaking. There were kids running all around, games being played and laughter spreading all around. I remember only three quiet moments the whole day. The first time was when my stepmom asked me to read the Bible out loud. All that was heard was the sound of God's word being spoken aloud. I was reading about the ressurection of Jesus and the empty grave. The second was when we all held hands to say grace over our lunch. As soon as my father began to pray, the room was completely silent. No one spoke. No children cried. No noise was heard. The third time was when we all were outside. My daughter picked up her guitar to sing, and everyone sat down quietly around the yard. No one moved. No one said a word. All you could hear were the sounds of worship music in the air. Funny...all three times were when the name of Jesus was spoken. There is just something about that name! Speak His name...Jesus...and see what happens in your life.
Phillippians 2:9-11, "Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee would bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Matthew 1:21, "And she will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
